Fatcat_search_scholar tool specification

Tool Information:

  • Name: Fatcat_search_scholar

  • Type: FatcatScholarTool

  • Description: Search Internet Archive Scholar’s Fatcat release index and retrieve detailed metadata. Results are recoverably paginated: request at most 10 enriched records per call, start with offset=0, and continue with metadata.next_offset while metadata.has_more is true. The current Scholar HTML endpoint does not expose an exact total. Each item reports metadata_complete and metadata_error so a failed release-page enrichment is distinguishable from genuinely absent DOI/author/abstract fields.

Parameters:

  • query (string) (required) Search query for Fatcat releases. Use keywords to search across titles, abstracts, and metadata of research papers.

  • max_results (integer) (optional) Number of enriched releases to return per page. Default and maximum are 10; use offset/metadata.next_offset for additional results.

  • offset (integer) (optional) Zero-based search-result offset. Continue with metadata.next_offset.
